Hubli, 6 June 2019 – Castrol, the leading automotive and industrial lubricant manufacturing company in the country, today announced the launch of its flagship CSR programme for mechanics - Castrol Eklavya in Karnataka. The new mechanic upskilling centre at Hubli was inaugurated by Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman of All India Council for Technical Education. The first training programme saw over 150 independent two-wheeler mechanics across Hubli and Dharwad participating in this initiative. The curriculum of the programme focuses on life skills, practical training, business skills and financial literacy training for mechanics to drive inclusive growth.
Commenting on the occasion, Rekha Pillai, Head – CSR, Castrol India said, “At Castrol, we aim to create enduring value to communities in the mobility sector. This new centre will provide mechanics in and around Hubli access to relevant training and skills. We strongly believe that this programme will help to prepare them to face today’s reality and leverage tomorrow’s opportunity in the automotive industry.”
With this centre, Castrol Eklavya is now present in 12 states across the country, and aims to train and upskill about 400 mechanics in Hubli this year.
