We care about creating the best lubricants for our customers
Science and technology are central to us providing our customers with brands which deliver the performance and reliability of the machinery they depend on; whether it’s for the car on the school run or generating greener energy by helping to keep wind turbines turning.
Our technology teams bring together the best thinking and ideas from wherever it exists. Not only do we pull together scientific expertise from within BP, but we also work closely with leading scientists, universities, our customer’s engineers and specialist companies. Our seven global R&D centres in the US, UK, Germany, China, and Japan work on the science and technologies which underpin the performance of our brands.
We develop and test hundreds of new products every year and our teams work closely with leading industry original equipment manufacturers, who we supply with a broad range of lubricants designed for particular operating conditions and environments. Many of our products are recommended by and co-engineered with major vehicle manufacturers, including Audi, Ford, Honda, Jaguar Land Rover, MAN, Seat, Skoda, Tata, Volkswagen and Volvo.
We are constantly looking for opportunities to take us forward and put our lubricants to the test in spectacular ways. Nothing tests oil like a vehicle being pushed to breaking point in some of the world toughest competitions. This is why we are involved in Formula One, World Rally Endurance racing and Moto GP. Technology and motor sport have always played important roles in Castrol's success, and many products first developed for use in competitions have since become available to the everyday motorist.
