IRV GORDON – UNDER THE HOOD

World records are earned – not given.  The 1966 Volvo P1800S, owned by Irv Gordon has earned its place in endurance history.  With over 3 million miles driven, it firmly holds the record for most miles logged on an originally owned passenger car.  A world record that may never be broken.

Since the day Irv first rolled his Volvo out of the showroom, Castrol/GTX has been his oil of choice.  In fact, it’s the only oil he’s ever used.  To understand what enabled this world record, we consulted with a Volvo engine expert and went under the hood to take a closer look at 3 critical engine parts.  These parts have logged more miles than any other engine parts currently on record.  Here’s what we found…
